THREE ACTS

Ken Aptekar’s video THREE ACTS  (13’37”) is a chronicle of his transformation into King Louis XV and then Madame de Pompadour at the hands of renowned Parisian make-up artist/stylist, Pierre Marie Humeau. Videotaped in Paris and in the private apartments of Louis XV and Pompadour in the Chateau de Versailles, Three Acts premiered in 2004 at Reed College in Ken Aptekar: A Personal Public, curated by Stephanie Snyder It was shown at Espace d’Art Contemporain Camille Lambert, Juvisy, France, in 2005, and at the Beard & Weil Galleries at Wheaton College in Ken Aptekar: Look Again, curated by Michele L’Heureux, Norton, MA, in 2012. From November 15, 2019 to January 15, 2020, THREE ACTS is on view in L’Encyclopedie et Nous ? Tableaux et Video de Ken Aptekar, Bibliotheque Bussy-Rabutin, Autun, France.
